This game is a short but full experience. To conclude, as I said before, the creatures are creepy abominations, nightmares born from happy memories of Bulb Boy. Memories and characters fused together in this new world full of monsters. The plot is minimal and chaotic, like if we are inside a nightmare. The total absence of dialogue and the green palette of colors create a dreamlike environment. There is an interesting and surreal atmosphere in Bulb Boy. The final boss itself is something very creepy and disturbing, but I will avoid spoilers. Sometime they are maybe a bit too gross, like an excrement-made worm wearing a white mask. What is really interesting is that the creatures infesting the house of the poor Bulb Boy are truly creepy and nightmarish, from a giant headless turkey, to a rotten face full of man-eater worms. This is what would happen to the poor Bulb Boy if you fail to solve the puzzles while the monsters are around.

Sometime it is like to watch “Happy Tree Friends”, where cute and lovely animals are brutally killed in each episode. You must be prepared to watch the Bulb Boy exploded, melted, strangulated or eaten alive. The death sequences are really bloody and unexpectedly cruel. There are some frustrating action sequences where a wrong click means death. There is also a tense stealth session where you have to hide from a giant cannibal cooked turkey… yes you read well. The core of the game is a modern “point and click” adventure with some interesting mechanics. This is in part true, but Bulb Boy is also a creepy and often gross game. If you check some pics of Bulb Boy it could appear like a sweet and cheesy game with a cute protagonist.
